Ok so we are going to discuss neighbors today. Let me clarify, bad neighbors. Everyone I know has had some sort of trouble with at least on neighbor at one point in the life. Maybe it the person in the apartment next to you that plays TV too loud at all hours of the day? Or maybe the family that moved in next door that has loud, uncontrolled kids. I recently read this story about a man in Colorado who moved into his new house and had his new neighbors welcome him by placing a large trampoline and swing/playset in their yard. The structures were placed right up to the dividing line between the properties and only a few feet from his house. This would drive me absolutely nuts. Even after a fence was installed the slide from the playset towered over the fence and left little privacy.
The neighbors kids and their guests were very loud as children can be but the parents never did anything to control the children. So this poor guy had to listen to screaming kids day and evening. Screams that were only about 8 feet from his bedroom and the sounds would echo off the house and amplify the screams right into his bedroom. Apparently it got so bad that they had to go to mediation sessions and in these sessions the parents admitted that the kids had screaming problems. If the parents are saying that then it must be a problem. Yikes.
The man said the the kids had 2 volumes..screaming and even louder screaming and in his own words, “they sounded like they were on Jerry Springer Show.” The sounds filled his house, the entire house and was measured at illegal volume levels. What a nightmare this was.
The screaming kids were often accompanied by other screaming neighbor kids, who also liked the freedom they had to yell, scream and shriek just a few feet from another home. Not to mention the kids were apparently often unsupervised and playing unsafely. Accidents happen everyday from situations like this…
